Installing & Testing AMY — Phase 1 VOICE AI Interviewer for House Cleaning Companies
How the Prompt and Knowledge Base Work
Here’s what our prompt includes:
Scoring & Reviewing Candidates
Hiring reliable cleaners is one of the biggest challenges in the home cleaning industry—but what if the first round of interviews could be handled automatically, without sacrificing quality or human connection?
That’s exactly what AMY, our Phase 1 Voice AI Interviewer, was built for.
Today, I’ll walk you through how we’re using AMY at Custom Maids to screen cleaner applicants, save hours of manual interview time, and build a more dependable hiring pipeline.
What AMY Does
AMY is a Voice AI agent that conducts the first round of interviews with job applicants. Once someone submits an application, we route them to a special phone number where AMY takes over.
She:
Confirms key application details
Gathers new info through natural-sounding dialogue
Assesses demeanor, tone, and clarity
Produces a full call transcript and summary
This lets us make fast, informed decisions about who should move on to a second interview—with zero time spent on phone tag or no-show appointments.
Note: Right now, AMY only handles inbound calls, not outbound dialing. Still, that’s more than enough to revolutionize our applicant flow.

Setting Up AMY in Nurturely+
You can access AMY at nurturely.io/amy. Purchasing AMY gets you six months free of the Nurturely+ platform, which powers the entire automation.
To set her up:
Open your Nurturely+ dashboard.
Create a new AI Agent named “AMY.”
Choose a voice (AMY is the default, but other voices are available).
Write the initial message—ours says:
“Hi, thank you for calling Custom Maids. My name is AMY. Are you calling to do a quick phone interview for one of our open positions?”
From there, applicants are guided through a custom-built interview experience.
How the Prompt and Knowledge Base Work
AMY uses two pieces of instruction to perform effectively:
Prompt: This is a detailed script with logic and context, outlining what she should ask and how to behave.
Knowledge Base: This includes our internal docs, FAQs, training materials, website links, emails, etc. She draws from this to give meaningful, consistent answers.
Here’s what our prompt includes:
Friendly introduction and explanation of interview purpose
Collection of:
Name and contact info (with spelling confirmation)
Schedule preference (FT or PT)
Experience level
Team or solo preference
Driver’s license and vehicle status
Background check willingness
Info about pay structure and growth
An overview of our ScrubScore system (performance-based pay bump)
Encouragement for nervous or unsure candidates
Clear next steps: when to expect follow-up and how to reach us
Scoring & Reviewing Candidates
Internally, we use a simple metric called the HIRE Score to gauge applicant quality. It’s not shown to candidates, but it helps us rank people based on:
Experience
Vehicle access
Willingness to work solo
Availability
Compliance with background checks
A perfect applicant scores 107%. A weak candidate might score under 30%. AMY helps us sort through hundreds of applicants without burning out our team.
Since December alone, we’ve had over 440 applicants—and with AMY, we’re now only spending time on the most promising ones.
Post-Interview Workflow
Once AMY completes the interview:
She extracts key info (name, email, address).
Our office gets a notification and reads the summary.
A team member (like Alicia, Jenny, or Katie) decides whether to move forward.
If yes:
AMY sends a follow-up to schedule a second interview manually.
If no:
AMY sends a kind, professional decline with optional feedback.
This hybrid system gives us human oversight with AI-driven efficiency.
Pricing, Testing, and Optimization
Here’s what you need to know:
Voice AI usage costs about 14–16¢ per minute (less than our old rate of 19.5¢).
You can enable 24/7 availability or restrict to business hours.
Test your agent right inside Nurturely+ before going live.
The dashboard shows call summaries, applicant sentiment, durations, and full logs.
You’ll quickly see how powerful and consistent AMY is. You can even try to trip her up in a test call and see how gracefully she recovers.
Why This Matters
Before AMY, we wasted time preparing for interviews that never happened. People would ghost us after applying. We’d burn hours calling, scheduling, following up—and still end up with poor fits.
Now, every second-round interview is with a qualified, engaged applicant who’s already invested in the process.
It’s not just about automation—it’s about restoring your time and raising your standards.
Final Thoughts
AMY is more than an AI tool—it’s a front-end hiring assistant that helps you avoid burnout, scale your team, and maintain high-quality standards. And with six months of Nurturely+ included, there’s no reason not to give it a test run.
If you’re serious about cleaner hiring and want to stop wasting time on cold leads or no-shows, AMY is your answer.
